This multi-stakeholder strategic workshop contributed to a three-year programme to assist African countries on the continent to understand the impact of IFFs and develop policy tools that can contribute towards significantly reducing them in terms of Target 16.4 of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals Agenda.
The strategic workshop developed concrete strategies by creating a partnership between the GEG II programme and participating stakeholders. The workshop discussed the implications of the following with respect to IFFs in Africa:
- Trade Mispricing and Abusive Transfer Pricing;
- Beneficial Ownership
- Country-by-Country Reporting
By understanding the impacts and drivers of IFFs in Africa, the strategic workshop assessed and recommended potential policy options for each of the three themes available to remedy the problem of IFFs on the African continent.
